Please find the specifications for both DS40 and DS50 fridge slides below, as you can see the 50 is a fair bit bigger than the 40.
You could put a 40Lt Engel into a DS50 however it would not be ideal as it might slide around. I guess on the other side of the coin, if you were wanting to upgrade the fridge at a later date then you would be limited to the size of the DS50, especially if you were wanting to go 60+ L fridge.

Fridge Tray: 715mm x 390mm
Slide length closed: 800mm (+20mm for lock)
Slide width closed: 505mm (+20mm for nyloc nuts)
Mounting floor to base of fridge: 35mm

Message Body: hey i have a 2012 fj cruiser and have a 2″ tuff dog lift kit. i would love to put so more air between the ground and the car, but people are suggesting not go any bigger than 2″ lift on IFS because it will destroy cvs. whats your take and what can your recommended, i know you have a 3″ and 4″ kit but what are the pros and cons. I’m just trying to sort out what size would be appropriate for my next purchase.
Hi Max,
Depending on what you are doing with the vehicle, 3″ is a very offroad capable height with not lot of extra strain on the CV joints. This is because we use a 25mm diff drop.
I would not recommend 4″ of lift to anyone who is serious about off-roading. The 4″ kits do come very close to maxing out the front inner rack end and outer tie rod ends (great if only for looks and clearing big tyres)
We also have our best results with lift from Genuine Toyota CV joints, they work on a much greater angle than a lot of the Chinese import CVs (which sometimes bind at 2″ of lift!)
When selecting wheels and tyres also ensure the fitment will be correct to clear the first body mount under the floor. This will prevent you having to do a “body mount chop” see below (this makes your vehicle a statutory write off)

For the part to be considered a direct replacement it must be the same in all dimensions. By making a strut top thicker you are not making an equivalent part which is then not legal.
